Description: The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Information and Referral Center provides information and referral for people who have Parkinson's Disease, their families, caregivers, and/or interested parties. APDA Information and Referral Center also provides information to professionals regarding Parkinson's Disease. There are three support groups located in Carson City and Reno. APDA has a lending library of books and videotapes. The annual fundraiser event, a walk-a-thon, is held in April. April is also Parkinson's Disease Awareness Month. The Information and Referral Center in Reno is located at the Veterans Administration Medical Center and serves the general community as well as the veteran population.
