Dr. Schmidt received her Doctor of Medicine with Distinction from The George Wahsington University School of Medicine.  She completed a General Surgery Internship, a Neurological Surgery Residenncy and a Pediatric Neurological Surgery Fellowship all at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  She is also certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is Board Eligible.  She is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons.  Dr. Schmidt's area of specialty is pediatric neurosurgery.
